Are You Ready for Fun Fest July 13-21, 2012?
With the abundance of fun and entertainment offered each year at FunFest, it's challenging to find new events that will awe participants, but somehow it's happened, beginning with Kingsport's own version of "American Idol."
A singing competition based on the popular TV series, Kingsport Idol 2012 has sought out the best singers in the Tri-Cities to showcase their talents.
For those whose interest is less in performing and more in tinkering, the Mini Maker Faire will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 15, at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium. Science geeks, home-style inventors, craftspeople and artisans are invited to show their products and demonstrate the techniques of their hobbies for participants.
Showcasing the area's local farms and agricultural products, the Dinner at the Market will offer a healthy and savory meal for 100 at the Kingsport Farmer's Market from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 15. A variety of meats, vegetables and fruits, all locally grown or raised, will be prepared by Eramark. This ticketed event is $21 per person and is sponsored by Asbury Place of Kingsport and the Kingsport Farmer's Market.
Travis Tritt, Jeremy Camp and 1to Lynrd Skynrd Concerts, hot air balloons, boat races and lots more fun is on the way!
