Ever Been to the Roan Mountain Rhododendron Festival? Now's the Time!

This is the weekend flower lovers have been waiting for all year...seeing the gorgeous rhododendron's at  Roan Mountain's beautiful gardens during the annual festival. The pictures our guests always bring back are amazing, so we ventured there last year and can't wait to see what the interesting weather has produced this time.

Dates are June 19 & 20, for the world famous 64th Annual Rhododendron Festival! There will be crafters, folkway demonstrators, musicians and all of the best southern food you can stand!

If you're looking for a Father's Day getaway, staying at Fox Manor (that's only about an hour away), and experiencing this "most beautiful of the high mountains... with Carolina at its feet on one side and Tennessee on the other, and a green ocean of mountains rising in tremendous billows around her" will be a great memory.

Fox Manor Hosts our First Blogger

Although we have had many writers stay at Fox Manor before, recently we had our first guest who is a blogger. Rick Jacobs calls himself an "artist, a philosopher and a cop". We found him to be a very charming, diverse young man on a mission. He is currently writing two blogs, The Feel of the Wind and 50 Smiths. Rick's plan was to "experience America and the people in it and blog about it everyday". We've enjoyed following his adventures, even with no motorcycle. Feel free to catch up with him at his next stop.

East Tennessee Car Shows Brought Great Vehicles to Fox Manor.

Memorial Day weekend we were lucky enough to have our own mini antique car show in our driveway. Guests Debbie and Dan drove their 1955 Chevy Bel Air all the way from Cape Girardeau, MO to attend all the car shows taking place in Kingsport. Traveling with friends, Mary Anne and Jerry, they shared some great information about car shows around the county. Thanks to all these great folks for reviving some forgotten memories.

The show will begin at 7 pm on the corner of Broad and Market Streets. Please bring a lawn chair for your own comfort and remember no coolers and no pets please.
